History of GV

Welcome to my blog on the History of GamersVault.net. A great community that brings all loyal gamers together under one roof.

GV was started back in 2005 when some of the great ones came together and decided that the current situation they were in was not satisfying their needs or hopes for a great place. So they all got their heads together and formed GV what it is today. Here is how it all began in Cluanars words

I was OP'd in dclone.net by request of BooBooKitty. Her, Tazz and myself ran the west coop at the time. We did our coops like no one had before, we guaranteed games to all. At that time anni's were worth much more and 8 sojs was a steep buy in. But, they flocked in to a point of us getting 19+ in a coop. that's 150+ sojs a walk. We banked quite a few overs. We then decided to do 1 or more free walks on weekends for the coop members who contributed that week using the overs we collected.

Well, someone above us decided that we didn't need to do those free walks and took the sojs out of our accts that we shared and blamed us for losing them. He later admittd he looked at the accts and they poofed which i still don't believe. They later posted sojs on ebay so you decide what happened to them.

After that, net staff needing an out, we were accused from everything to stealing sojs to precamping ips. Bare in mind we gave away 15+ games a coop and proxies weren't openly available 2 years ago for D2.

We decided to leave unless we were given total exsclusive power to coops which was denied so we left to do walks on yahoo with some of the coop'ers who found us via yahoo or msn addresses which they had of ours. I was then challenged that I was stupid to think that we could turn this into anything especially another IRC which I hadn't thought of at the time.

But when Kitty got Timex involved and with a core of the best ops on net and gameaddix with us we started GV. Soon after Arcanium and Globster2000 joined us.

We struggled mightily early on when trying to grow. Advertising where allowed and word of mouth. Meanwhile getting attacks and abuse from another irc. Remember, other dclone irc's split from jsp so had some following and a huge base to start with. We are quite in our youth compared to the time they have been online. Nonetheless we continue to have a solid base and hope with our support to you, you can help us grow.

The rest as they say is history. We are here mainly to the thanks of BooBookitty, Timex, Tazz , Tanith, Powercycle, TheLastwolf, Martin, Coridan Arcanium and Globster.

And of course our early members who found us and coop'd religiously with us which are too many to name.

From there.. GV has been thriving ever since.. even after many ladder resets and bans that have hit some of our members. We are strong and always moving foward.
